Presentation
Special features of a possible internet presentation:
The model can be viewed and
rotated over the Internet. The visitor will be able to mark a
rectangular shape on the surface of the sculpture and by simply clicking
the mouse open a
high-resolution 2D image showing the selected area in
detail.
For scientific and publishing purposes, the 2D image archive can
be made available in still
higher resolution qualities, allowing
authorized visitors to download parts of the archive.
The visitor can define an
angle to look at the sculpture and the server will render an image
that
exactly corresponds to this perspective.
The advantage of these interactive server techniques is that no special
players of software plug-ins (like Quicktime or Cosmoplayer etc.) are
needed. Everyone with a modern Internet explorer or Netscape browser can
use and control these features.
