A research programme based on empirical methods (2)A wellknown case is the large, unnumbered edition of The Kiss, issued between 1898 and 1918. by the Barbédienne Foundry with Rodin´s permission. Although these items are highly valued and kept in Museum collections, a direct comparison with later Alexis Rudier casts learns that the Barbediènne bronzes look significantly smoother and less detailed.
